Mirror Image interesting synergies

Hey folks, new here but enjoying the site. I just started in Arena this week and am averaging 5 wins; not bad but definitely looking to improve.

Last night I had a pretty interesting Mage deck with the unexpected MVP of Mirror Image. I drafted the first one against crummy cards thinking I might get a Mana Wyrm or two, then drafted another after picking up 3 Jugglers.

I ended up going 7 wins (a record for me) with this deck, and on quite a few of them I never drew a removal spell. It was more like a fast aggro deck with some burn for extra reach and it did particularly well in the mirror. (I lost to shammy/pally decks with all those token dorks and stronger midrange dudes).

Anyway, Mirror Image really shined for me. With aggressive mulligans I could usually draw into a nice opening curve, when at it’s worst MI let me swing into the face for two extra turns before making trades. At it’s best it turned Juggler into a serious nuisance. After coin Juggler, second turn Apprentice + free MI, I’ve done 6 damage already and I’m ready to swing in for another 6 on turn three.

Obviously it’s much worse without the synergies and if you don’t draw it early. But it does seem better than the tier lists would say. Off the top of my head it works well with Wyrm, Juggler, Cult Master, anything that buffs from spells, and anything that buffs from minions (and many of these are commons).

Then again, maybe I just stumbled into the rare deck where it could be good and it’s usually trash. Any thoughts?
