Malygos is useless

i always wanted to use him in a control warlock deck but i figured my dreamscenario of malygos double soulfire for 18 would just never happen so i switched to rag instead.

almost every 9 drop legendary will lead to either a dead card because youre already behind in tempo and you cant play it in most machups because you cant afford not either clearing the board of putting up a taunt (against most aggro decks or druid on 15- HP)

Malygos needs to be combo’d on top of that with spells whereas only 1 or 0 mana spells will allow you to get value on the same turn you played him without risking him getting removed immediately and getting not the intended value of it.

When I got Malygos I made a fun druid deck with it. You can play him and 2 moonfires for 6 damage on turn 9 (or earlier with innervate/coin). Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely not a super viable deck, but it was loads of fun.

Yeah, I think the only deck that I have every used him in is a Druid. You can establish your early game, and Innervate Malygos to the board. malygos looks good in a Mage, but the damage potential in Druid is insane. You can keep the board clear and deal massive damage the the opposing hero with Swipe. Starfire, Moonfire, Wrath, and Starfall are also insanely good once you have a Malygos on the board. Malygos is also difficult to remove.

Turn 1 Innervate Alamo-bot into Malygos on Druid, win game.

Malygos is definitely one of the weakest dragons but he isn’t useless. He works really well in a shaman deck. He combos really well with the 1 mana spells that shaman has. Turn 10 you can fork lighting for 7 damage or use lightning bolt as a finisher for 8 damage.

Rogue deck: Turn 10 malygos + conceal. Next turn faceless manip sinister strike for 13, eviscerate for 14, shiv for 11, etc.

Edit: also works on turn 9 with preparation

Malygos Rogue is really funny, actually. I have tried it once in casual, but just get stomped before I can get to all of the fun. It is fun to try, either way.

He is a fun card, much like Nozdormu. Not very good on the ladder unless you play against Monk… I’m so sorry.

I’m using him in this deck i made today.

He’s actually used in some of the most terrifying decks at the highest levels of play.
