Going in, I was aware of all of these rules, except for the the fact that new decks could be made in between the semi-finals and finals. Finding out this great news about a day before, I had to reconsider all my previous plans, and start over with something new.

After 5 rounds of SWISS play the top 8 played BO3’s and the players were whittled down to the finals where Mana Grind LuigEzz’s played against the dark horse Azuzu in a BO5.

The meta continues its violent undulations in the wake of the Unleash the Hounds nerf. Having already slipped, Hunter has been violently ripped from its throne. Will Miracle Rogue continue its dominance with Hunter’s demise? Is Warlock poised to retake the throne it once ruled? This past Friday May 9th Root EggY ran the first of his Golden Egg Weekly Tournaments. This tournament took place after the patch that nerfed the Unleash The Hounds and added a timer to ALL games and we believe this had a positive impact on the tournament as a whole.

With the beginning of the new season comes significant shake-ups on the ladder. Rogue has finished it’s coup de grace of Hunter, plummeting the former beast down the rankings. Is Rogue the new king (queen)? Is it here to stay? We’ll have to see what the meta decides!
