Deck Analysis

Right now in Hearthstone, the name of the game is aggression on the Ranked ladder. A solid aggro deck can deal with most things you're likely to be matched up against, including those pesky OTK Hunters and Ice Block Mage burn decks.

Hail and well met fellow card players! Today I present to you a second episode of Deck Check, which is my regular series where I discuss top deck lists and try them out on a 3 star masters ladder. This time I take a look at the top and most popular deck choice in the current metagame. It's obviously a Warlock deck, which is a complete powerhouse. Hi guys and welcome to my new series called Deck Check! In this series I go through the lists of the current top constructed decks and play a couple of games with them. My first choice is the Mage Deck Wins list that lead me to the 1st place rank on the ESL site and also snatched me a nice win on the Wednesday's EU MLG tournament. The Shaman Control deck was my first love in Hearthstone and even though I've gone on to develop other decks and learn other heroes its hard for me to let go of playing Shaman for pure joy. It seemed the right time to revisit my original Shaman Control deck and update it.

This can be said about Rexxar The Hunter! Since the last patch, the biggest shift we saw in the Hearthstone meta game, other than Rogues going out of style, has been the rise of the OTK Hunter Deck. The term “OTK" was coined in collectible card games such as Yugioh and Magic: The Gathering where a player would stall out his opponent long enough to gather sufficient cards and mana to deliver a One Turn Kill.

I’ll outline the methods I’ve used in CCGs for the last 18-ish years. They’ve worked well for me and might help you develop your own deck building system. Enjoy!
