JRoc joins DKMR on 10/18/2014. He is from Canada, but has been an EU account and has 0 cards on the NA server. He is asked to play in the Zotac NA in 2hrs. He is given $250 worth of packs and starts playing the tutorial. He discusses his strategy with the team, he will beat the innkeeper and unlock all the classes with a Zoo deck. He also needs to unlock Naxxramas.
The tournament is now about to start and JRoc only has: a rank 10 Warlock, (a Zoo deck), a rank 4 Druid, a rank 4 Shaman and a rank 2 Priest. He has just started unlocking Naxxramas. He needs to 2-0 his first match with Zoo in order to move forward. He knows he has 15 minutes between each match and he might have some more time if he has to wait for an opponent. His plan is to take this time to rank up his classes and get the cards he needs from Naxxramas.
Round 1 - Win - (Zoo vs Zoo / Zoo vs Freeze Mage)
His opponent reports Jroc doesn’t show up for the match. JRoc must now message an admin to prove he played his games. Becuase this takes awhile, JRoc is able to lvl up a few other classes so that he has more than just one deck to play in round 2. Jroc lvls his Priest to lvl 8, Druid to lvl 8 and Shaman to lvl 10. He also grinds Naxxramas to unlock the Spectral Knight & Shade he still does not have Lotheb.
Round 2 - Win - 1-2(Zoo vs Paladin / Druid vs Paladin / Druid vs Warrior)
Inbetween rounds JRoc continues to grind through Naxxramas and unlock more of the cards he needs. He still is unable to unlock Lotheb and Sludge Belcher. He must continue playing with uncompleted decks. He is unable to progress the classes because he needs to unlock the final cards in Naxxramas.
Round 3 - Win - 1-2 (Druid vs Handlock / Shaman vs Handlock / Shaman vs Miracle Rogue)
After this round he continues to play Naxxramas. The rounds are moving faster because of the delay during his frist match and he does not have enough time to continue to grind. He knows he is weak to Miracle without Lotheb, so he starts to run minions that can taunt his Spectral Knights allowing him to handle Miracle Rogue more effectively.
Round 4 - Win - 1-2 (Druid vs Freeze Mage (duplicate / iceblock)/ Druid vs Miracle Rogue/Handlock vs Miracle Rogue)
His plan works! He is able to beat the Miracle by making this change. His decks are still not where he wants them to be, but he is now able to work around threats. He MUST unlock the rest of Naxxramas.
Round 5 - Win - 1-2 (Shaman vs Priest / Shaman vs Zoo / Hunter vs Zoo)
Right before his first match in the grid, he unlocks and his lvl 10 hunter. This might have made his opponent guess he was going to play hunter, because he had to change his deck. But he did not plan on opening Hunter and opens Shaman.
Grid Quaterfinals - Win - 1-2 (Shaman vs Warrior / Shaman vs Shaman / Hunter vs Shaman)
He now has unlocked every card he needs and even though not all his classes are rank 10, he feels confident moving into the semifinals. He is able to take the win in the end and now moves on to the finals.
Grid Semifinals - Win - 1-2 (Druid vs Hunter / Druid vs Handlock / Shaman vs Hunter)
His final opponent opens with the mirror matchup and JRoc is able to take the win. After losing to Zoo game 2, he makes the change to Hunter and is able to ride it home to a victory and wins the Zotac #38.
Grid Finals - Win - 3 - 1 (Druid vs Druid / Druid vs Zoo / Hunter vs Zoo / Hunter vs Shaman)
In the end JRoc is not able to level all of his classes to rank 10. Below is a list of where his classes were at the end of the tournament. We hope you enjoyed this article, decklists attached. This game has a lot of RNG, but even some of the best players can win games without the most optimal decks. We hope you enjoyed this article.
Shaman lvl 10 / Hunter lvl 10 / Warlock lvl 10 / Priest lvl 8 / Druid lvl 8 / Warrior lvl 1 / Paladin lvl 1/ Mage lvl 1 / Rouge lvl 1
