New Curse of Naxxramas Warlock Card
The Hearthstone team continues their long line of teases for the upcoming Curse of Naxxramas expansion, this time with a Warlock card.
Voidcaller, which was initially leaked yesterday on Hearthstone’s Brazilian Facebook page, may hark the return of actual representation of the Warlock’s many demons in standard decks. With a deathrattle that pulls a random demon from the player’s hand on to the board, the card can promise a significant return on investment with the right deck composition. While this card synergizes poorly with Handlock or Zoo Warlock, neither of which favor demons strongly, there’s still a lot of potential here for strong plays, especially when also considering the many deathrattle augmenting cards that are also coming with the new expansion.
However, the card’s inherent randomness is always a concern, especially when you have to build a whole deck around it, and it’s always a risk to favor a relatively weak four drop, in favor of a strong, more solid play in both arena and constructed. The opponent doesn’t risk much by playing around this card’s effect with only three power as a threat.
Still, there’s always the hope that you’ll rattle this card into a Pit Lord or Doomguard, powering out a strong minion without worrying about its negative effect. At the very least, this opens up more potential options for an already versatile class.
Two class cards have yet to be revealed for Naxxramas, and hopefully a release date will follow when they are all announced.
