New Curse of Naxxramas Priest Card
Another Curse of Naxxramas card has just been revealed. This time for a class that many would argue desperately needs all the help it can get.
Dark Cultist is perhaps the mostly reliably effective of all the class cards that have been teased thus far. It’s offering of three power, and four toughness, for three mana cost makes this card a strong tempo play already, further increased by the hope that it can drastically increase the potential of another one of your minions with its deathrattle.
Priests don’t have a particular abundance of strong three drops, often relying heavily on Injured Blademasters, so a card of this caliber will no doubt be welcomed with open arms into most deck compositions. Even if the deathrattle can’t reliably take effect unless another minion is on the board, this minion’s base stats are justification enough to see it played. While this card doesn’t have any particular synergy, it certainly suits the typical priest MO of putting strong minions on the board that can’t easily be dealt with.
The only concern is that this card’s perfect counter is the same thing that priests have continually struggled with since they first got popular, which is to say the ever-present Chillwind Yeti.
This classic example notwithstanding, any card with four power presents challenge for most priest because they lack hard removal since Shadow Word: Pain only affects three power or weaker minions, and Shadow: Word Death, five or higher. This card doesn’t promise an alm to that suffering since it trades extremely poorly with a Chillwind Yeti, unless buffed somehow.
One class card remains to be revealed. Will we finally get a Curse of Naxxramas release date with it?

God, I’m in love with the splash art.
