$800k WEC Tournament Announced

What is being considered to be the new version of the World Cyber Games, WEC (World eSports Championship Games) has announced another significant tournament this week in China. Diba Network Technology and Shanghai Boyu Cultural Communication both held a press conference in Hangzhou on June 18th. They announced that the WEC tournament platform would begin this summer.

They announced that the WEC tournaments will be a global event, held annually. Hearthstone of course is just one of several games that is slated to be a part of this event, other titles include Dota2, Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3.

While the tournament will kick off as a primarily online event, which has been said to last as long as three months for certain games. The tournament series will eventually lead into the grand finals which will be a LAN held in the Yellow Dragon Stadium in Hangzhou. The finals will be held from September 6th to September 8th.
