Artosis and Doa cast the King of the Hill #2 featuring last week’s winner LS vs. this week’s challenger Gnimsh! Both players are at the highest level of Hearthstone, and watching them play out their games in this new unique casted format was a pleasure to produce and watch. Several thousand people tuned in live to watch the match, and seemed to really enjoy it…I’ll be honest, I was mildly concerned about the “esports friendliness” or Hearthstone…but this KOTH has rested those fears and I am now extremely excited about the eSports potential of this game!
In the match, both players must have 4 decks ready to play a potential 7 games straight. When a player loses a round, he must choose a new deck…the winner of the round must keep the deck he won with. So it’s like a King of the Hill of decks, inside the larger King of the Hill of players. This ensures that we see a bunch of different decks and playstyles in each event, which we feel is integral to putting on a good show!
