6 Simple Tips to Deal with a Meta Shift

Author: DarklingNinja
Seems like everyone is freaking out and complicating things for the meta shift that is to come sometime this month. Meta shifts have been happening since the release of this game and by now most seasoned players have learned to chill out and deal with it, for some newer players a huge meta shift can seem pretty intimidating. Well, it is simpler than you think. Here are some tips to follow that are simple and will help you stay on top of your game.
Tips for Meta shifts
#1 - Never ever ever try to predict a meta shift. You never know what some crazy genius will come up with.
- Back in January everyone though rogue was one of the worst classes in the game and that miracle would never make a comeback after being nerfed into the ground a few months ago. Then Kolento came along and said “I have an idea” and now Miracle rogue is one of the strongest decks in the game.
- Even in recent times, after the Unleash the Hounds Nerf, no one thought that Token druid and frost mage would be making a huge comeback like they have been.
- The fact is you never know what someone may come up with, trying to predict how the meta is going to shift is like trying to predict what the weather will be like a month from now, even the weather man can’t get it right.
#2 - Don’t be afraid to do some experimenting with the new changes yourself whether it be in ranked, casual or even against a computer.
- Try to play around with the new card and/or card changes to come up with some ideas of your own. You may even create the new best deck out there.
- Also experiment with the other idea’s and decks others are playing around with, it will help you fight against it better in the future regardless. Who knows you might even find a new favorite deck.
#3 - In hearthstone when the meta shifts it usually goes crazy and the meta becomes very fluid, be ready to deal with a whole new set of decks every day.
- With the first expansion hitting soon the meta could be changing by hour. This is the very first expansion we have ever had, people are going to be going crazy trying out new things and ideas.
- Don’t let yourself be flustered or overwhelmed by the volatility and randomness of the meta, just try to turn it into a learning experience. Sit back, relax and learn all the new things as they come at you.
#4 - Rather than predicting what you will need to change in your deck for the new meta, just play with your usual deck and see What you need to remove and replace in order to deal with the meta as it changes.
- Trying to predict the meta is a no no, that includes trying to predict how to adapt your deck to the meta as well.
- The meta gets so fluid that it is imposable for you to predict every change you will need to make along the way.
- Your best bet is to go in with what you have and see what’s working and what’s no. The fact is what works for one day may not work for the next. So just take it as it comes at you.
#5 - Memorize the new cards and what they synchronize with in order to help better predict what is to come
- This one is pretty straight forward, in order to know how to deal with the changes and/or new cards you have to know them first right?
#6 - Keep up to date with popular deck list in order to see what the popular new builds are, and also to see what people are doing to adjust the popular old builds to compensate for new threats.
- Luckily the internet always has are back and there are many great websites dedicated to keeping you up to date with all the changes and top strategies in hearth stone. Take advantage of these websites, they are there for you, the players.
- If you have some down time or need a small break in-between work or study take out your phone, laptop, desktop what ever and check out what’s hot right now. Its a quick easy break to let your mind and body rest, that will also help make you a better player. Its a win/win situation : D
